Hobart 140 Spool Gun - There is no direct connect spool gun option for the handler 140. I have a hh140. It is possible to weld aluminum with this unit. I tried it on mine and it actually worked quite well. Hr100 mig gun for your hobart handler 135, 140, 175, 180 or 187 mig welder. My impression was that to mig weld aluminum i needed a spool gun but hobart doesn't sell one compatible with the 140. Can i simply change out the spool for aluminum and run with pure. Aluminum absorbs/dissipates heat readily. No way will a 140 work. I tried my hh140 without a spoolgun and it worked quite well on 1/8 aluminum. I did preheat and got good results using. The hobart 140/135 did not come with spool gun ready. That is the one thing i wish it did. Will here is a video on how to convert it to handle a spool gun.
